Portsmouth Hosts 9/11 Memorial Tribute

A Day of Remembrance and Reflection

On Sunday, September 11, 2023, the City of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, will host a memorial tribute to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

Honoring the Victims

The tribute will take place at the Portsmouth Fire Department, 145 Bartlett Street, at 8:30 AM. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying, a moment of silence, and the reading of the names of the victims. The event is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

The City of Portsmouth has a long history of honoring the victims of 9/11. In 2002, the city dedicated a memorial to the victims at the Portsmouth Public Library. The memorial features a steel beam from the World Trade Center, and it is a place where people can go to remember and reflect on the events of that day.

A Time for Unity

The 9/11 memorial tribute is a time for the community to come together and remember the victims of the attacks. It is also a time to reflect on the importance of unity and resilience in the face of adversity.

The attacks of 9/11 were a tragedy, but they also brought people together. In the days and weeks following the attacks, people from all over the country came together to help the victims and their families. They donated blood, volunteered their time, and showed their support in countless other ways.

The 9/11 memorial tribute is a reminder of the importance of unity and resilience. It is a time to remember the victims of the attacks, and it is also a time to celebrate the spirit of community that emerged in the aftermath of the tragedy.
